About The Artist

Welcome! I’m Kristen Allicock—a Contemporary Visual and Digital Artist, Curator, and Creative Facilitator based in Brampton by way of Toronto. Rooted in the Caribbean diaspora, my work explores identity, heritage, and social awareness through vibrant colors, faceless Black figures, and layered textures. Each piece invites personal reflection while celebrating the richness and complexity of Blackness.

As the founder of The Art of KDA, I create original paintings, digital works, and handcrafted resin jewelry that merge storytelling with design. My art has been featured in exhibitions across Ontario, including the HBAS Emancipation Exhibition, Leverage Lens Art Festival, and PIXEL Digital Art Exhibition. I’ve also collaborated on community projects like the Little Jamaica Land Trust Title Page and T-shirt designs for Performing Arts Brampton.

I am also the co-creator and co-curator of Flow, Form & Frequencies, an immersive art and hip-hop event celebrating Toronto’s musical legacy. It is a creative ecosystem where art + music collides. Built for artists, by artist. In addition to that, I also produce and host Better With Chocolate, a podcast exploring art, wellness, culture, and justice through a Black creative lens (currently on pause and in rebrand mode).

With over a decade of experience in communication and client services and project management, I bring a strategic, entrepreneurial lens to my creative practice. I also lead workshops that help others tap into their creative voice—making space for joy, self-expression, and connection.

When I’m not creating, I’m experimenting with new ideas, engaging with my community at @theartofkda, or building what’s next.
